FPAC Art Space

The FPAC Art Space facilitates conversation and engagement with contemporary art and culture by offering a robust program of multidisciplinary exhibitions, talks, performances, and screenings.

This 1,100 s.f. space along the Harborwalk is located on Sleeper Street off Seaport Boulevard. The Rose Kennedy Greenway, Children’s Museum, Martin’s Park, the Institute for Contemporary Art/Boston, The Society for Arts and Crafts, and numerous restaurants are nearby.

FPAC Art Space @ the Envoy is one of the Ch.91 regulated publicly accessible spaces on the Boston waterfront and FPAC extends its gratitude to our partner, the Envoy Hotel.

If you would like to submit a proposal for an exhibition at the FPAC Art Space, please email the FPAC Program Director, Dorothea Van Camp (dorothea@fortpointarts.org). There is no curator fee for the FPAC Art Space. We review proposals that include 3 or more artists with a theme.  All artwork must be for sale. Repeat/Repeat

Sept 11 – Nov 20

Incorporating a broad range of materials, processes, and ideas, the work of Deborah Davidson, Audrey Goldstein, Randal Thurston and Debra Weisberg reflects on how a dedicated studio practice based on iteration and curiosity evolves over time.

Creativity is a process of transformation. Marks are drawn, stitched or cut, then erased, redrawn, restitched and recut while ideas are considered, altered and refined. Over time — an hour, a day or months, the work’s path and meaning become clearer.

By the time a work is shown, its making and meaning become part of a larger story. Draped from a ceiling, hung on a wall or lain on a floor, it is both a record of our labors and an echo of ourselves. Artifact and talisman, part of us and independent from us, what we have made is now deeply steeped in memory.
