Event Details

Soft Focus: Douglas Breault has an interdisciplinary studio practice that overlaps and converges elements of painting, photography, sculpture, and video. He freely misapplies traditional artistic methods of painting and sculpture, connecting photographic images with the physicality of material and deconstructed objects. The process of mimicry and fragmentation coalesce object, image, and narrative into physical space.

Pop Culture and Advertising: 1960 Meets 2020: John S. Dykes’s large acrylic paintings come from a long interest in common and familiar objects and products, packaging and fashion. Dialoging with the main subjects of these paintings are details and markings ranging in influence from contemporary digital design, to sarcastic humor, to graffiti.

In Flux: The Landscape of Boston: Karen McFeaters has made the constantly evolving landscape of Boston the subject of her paintings for more than a decade, focusing primarily on Fort Point and South Boston. “So much that I’ve enjoyed painting is now gone or obstructed by newer, larger structures,” she notes. “And more change is coming.”
