Join On With Living and Learning and the Fort Point Arts Community for the third installment of the NightOWLLs series at the Assemblage.

Every year in a women’s prison in Bogota, Columbia, a beauty pageant is organized and held among the inmates. Another Word For Beauty is a play, written by Academy Award nominated José Rivera, about this event and the underlying themes the women confront throughout the contest: feminism, exploitation, redemption, and freedom.

José Rivera, Playwright

Jaime Carrillo, Director

Jerediah Gonzalez, Sound Design

On With Living and Learning’s Night OWLLs series brings culture-specific programming to the Assemblage, welcoming underrepresented voices and audiences to the Fort Point and Seaport Neighborhoods and opening up space for collaboration and conversation around a diversity of perspectives.
