FPAC Gallery’s 2015/2016 Season Call for Proposals

Juror: Acclaimed documentary filmmaker and Emerson College Professor John Gianvito. A filmmaker, curator, and critic, Professor Gianvito has taught film production and film history at the University of Massachusetts/Boston, Rhode Island School of Design, and Boston University and was film curator for five years at the Harvard Film Archive. In 2001, he was made a Chevalier in the Order of Arts and Letters by the French Ministry of Culture. “I suppose it’s fair to say I’ve become, or at least aspire to be, some kind of agitator. I seek an agit-prop cinema in the original non-pejorative sense of the term—agitating emotions and propagating thoughts. As I see it, the world we find ourselves enmeshed in demands a cinema of urgency as opposed to the cinema of distraction and alienation.”

*Note: Artists selected to exhibit video/film work must provide their own equipment.

Proposals must include the following information and be submitted digitally via this form:

•Proposal narrative
•Artist statement and resume for each artist •Plan for an educational component •Application fee of $10

• Up to 10 digital images of related works (ALL IMAGES MUST BE TITLED lastname.firstname.title.jpg)

• Image list (documented with titles, dates, media, and dimensions- this can be entered directly in the form)
