Shortly after graduating from RISD in 1996 with my MFA in Ceramics, I began working in Fort Point. Although I consider clay my first love, my current work is childrenÃs hats and clothing.
I started making hats while I was overdue with Jonas in 2004. I wanted to do something that expressed how happy and excited I felt about having children. I use brightly colored, recycled and vintage fabrics to make light cotton and heavy winter hats. I love the way they make me smile every time I see a baby wearing one. Recently, I added some sun hats, dresses, hoodies, mittens and other accessories to my line also made from recycled fabrics.
In addition to my career as an artist, I am also the Show Director for CRAFTBOSTON at the Seaport World Trade Center in April and CRAFTBOSTON Holiday at the Cyclorama in the Boston Center for the Arts in December, and Mom to Jonas and Ruby.
