Artist’s Statement
My work is inspired by places I’ve traveled through building on memories of light and form, color and contrast. Hiking trails, rafting rivers, and wandering in deep canyons, connect me with the quiet places, places of natural beauty. My paintings and monoprints are impressions of these journeys using patterns and shapes found in nature. Following ideas intuitively, I am interested in the relationship of colors, shapes and textures as they come together to create something new. The work strives for simplicity and balance.

After working in graphic design for 20 years, I received a BFA and Diploma from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. You can see my work at Fort Point Open Studios in October and Art Walk in May or call to schedule a studio visit.

I teach workshops regularly throughout New England in Printmaking and Mixed Media/Collage. One-day Art Retreats are taught in my large open studio in Fort Point. Please check my website for information and schedules.
