Lenore Tennenblatt: Painterly Prints
June 1-30, 2013
Opening Reception Thursday June 13th, 5-7pm

Made in Fort Point will be featuring Painterly Prints, the work of Lenore Tenenblatt for the month of June. Her process involves painting on a plastic plate textured with carborundum which is put through a large printing press. This series of painterly prints is called “Dark Flower”.  Dark Flowers are large prints and several have gold leaf to add to their showy look.  Abstraction and loose drawing make viewers work at finding a visual meaning for them – an exact description in words is never necessary. Along with the painterly prints, Lenore will be showing a wood sculpture constructed from deteriorated wooden bucket parts that has a complimentary central image.

At her summer home on Cape Cod, Lenore Tenenblatt spends weeks each summer printmaking. She shows several of these prints in this exhibit. Her art practice also centers on constructing three-dimensional pieces from weathered buckets and barrels with concern for the beauty of deteriorated wood surfaces and aging of the bucket metal bands. She has been involved in the Fort Point community since she graduated from the Boston Museum School.
